During the wonder days of the worldwide-phenomenon “The Factory”, Andy Warhol was known to engage and employ art rookies and street artist he found on the streets of the Big Apple to join and work at The Factory in producing new works ranging from clothes and garments, films, and production pieces to production design. These artists were what became the avatar of Andy Warhol’s pride, seen during the glory days when Andy Warhol often held parties and commemoration for the works of The Factory’s artist which were later documented and well-archived into the iconic black and white photos which were later published by the artist under the name of ‘The Factory People’



Pop Up Market is an annual not for profit local brands bazaar for young entrepreneurs, held by students of the undergraduate program of Universitas Prasetiya Mulya.

Pop Up Market acknowledges and supports emerging local brands that are fresh, creative, unique and vibrant to be able to strive and sustain in the creative industry.

Bringing fashion district themes as its edge annually, Pop Up Market has become a leisure destination where visitors could feel the ultimate shopping experience that indulges their five senses.

Since 2016, Pop Up Market adds art and culture as the new elements within each bazaar which could be seen in this following year predecessor, which are Pop Up Market 2016, Santa Fe and Pop Up Market 2017, Negen Straatjes. We, the Pop Up Market Team, are expecting to elevate the standard of our annual success stories in Pop Up Market 2018, through the changes of our event concept where the art element is further strengthened to alleviate the value of creative industries in Indonesia through this year’s theme, THE FACTORY, an art studio and organization initiated by Andy Warhol from 1962 to 1984, located in the very capital of modern arts and culture emerged, Manhattan, New York City.

The Factory stood first as 231 East 47th street, Midtown Manhattan. Although Andy Warhol is well known as a visual artist of printed media, he also produces other significant works including fashion items, experimental films and motion pictures, and sculptures as well as the part of his Factory’s work. In addition to producing countless of Andy’s iconic works, The Factory was also famous as one of the most famous get-together wonderland venues in New York City within its acclaimed era. Artist and content creators from different and diverse backgrounds were invited to indulge the once-in-alifetime experience of The Factory wonderland. They were encouraged to socialize, express themselves, entertain one and another, and share ideas and creative process.

This is what The Pop Up Market Team wishes for Pop Up Market to continue becoming the bridging vessel for our visitors, tenants, stakeholders, and other parties that are working together with Pop Up Market 2018 in developing helpful and memorable passion, education, connection and of course, entertainment and arts.
